A black cement base carries light gray and white natural marble chips, mostly between one and three centimeters. Against the black background, both colors read as light tones, but because their saturation is low, they do not jump out as sharply as pure white would. The overall effect is more like scattered stars in a night sky—detailed without being loud.

The chips are crushed natural marble used in their raw state. Some edges are rounded by water, while others still hold the sharp angles from quarrying. Light gray and white chips are mixed together without deliberate ordering, yet the even distribution during casting keeps the surface from looking messy. Cement paste fills the gaps between aggregates completely. After grinding and polishing, the surface becomes a single flat plane, with chips and cement base level to each other. Underfoot there is no noticeable unevenness; the touch is cool and hard.

This is an inorganic terrazzo, bound by Portland cement. The finished slab is denser and harder than resin-based organic terrazzo. Its compression and wear resistance are good enough for high-traffic areas such as living rooms, corridors, shopping malls, and office buildings. However, cement naturally has capillary pores. Without crystallization sealing, liquids and stains can penetrate. Therefore, crystallization treatment is mandatory after installation, followed by periodic waxing to maintain surface luster and stain resistance. Daily cleaning is simple—just wipe with a damp mop.

In tone, the black base with light gray and white aggregate leans cool and steady, matching various decorative styles. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, as well as kitchen countertops. Commercially, it is commonly seen in showrooms, offices, retail stores, and hotel lobbies. Large slabs are cut to site dimensions to reduce joints, creating strong visual continuity over large areas.
