MO-08 Linglongwhite

This terrazzo uses white Portland cement as its base, clean and plain. The surface holds two main colors of natural marble chips—red and white—each measuring one to three centimeters, interspersed across the slab. A scattering of green mineral grains also appears, few in number, like a few leaves fallen among flowers.

At one to three centimeters, these are not small chips. Crushed natural marble retains its original outline: some edges worn smooth from handling, others still holding sharp, fractured corners. The white chips sit close to the base tone, appearing and disappearing against the white ground; the red chips are more prominent, forming distinct color blocks on the white base like petals scattered on snow. The green mineral grains are even finer, emerging occasionally between the red and white, colored deep or grass green, adding a touch of life to the quiet surface. Cement paste fills all voids; once cured, it grips the stone firmly. After grinding and polishing, the slab is a flat plane with no height variation, smooth underfoot without snags.

It is an inorganic, cement-based terrazzo. The finished product is heavy and dense, with hardness and compressive strength exceeding those of resin boards. It withstands the foot traffic of living rooms, corridors, and shopping malls. However, cement is naturally porous. The surface must be sealed by crystallization; otherwise water and oil stains will penetrate and leave permanent marks. Waxing every few months is needed to maintain the sheen. Daily cleaning is simple—a pass with a damp mop suffices.

The palette of a white base with red and white chips and green accents is clean yet lively. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, as well as kitchen countertops and bathroom walls. In commercial spaces such as cafés, showrooms, retail stores, and creative studios, it reads bright and design-conscious. Large slabs are cut to site dimensions, minimizing joints. Once laid and properly crystallized, it is ready for use.

In plain terms, this is a cement-based terrazzo with a white base, red and white marble fragments, and the occasional green grain. The tone is cheerful, the material is solid, and it suits spaces that want a clean background with a hint of color variation—provided that ongoing maintenance is not neglected.
