This inorganic terrazzo features a dark red cement base with a heavy tone, resembling old brick walls or the inner surface of pottery. Embedded within are two types of natural mineral chips—red and gray—each measuring between 0.5 and 1 cm, classified as fine aggregate.

Unlike smooth marble, these mineral chips have a rougher texture, retaining their naturally crushed state with some edges rounded and others still angular. The red chips sit within the same color family as the dark red base, creating shifts in depth, while the gray chips read cooler, forming subtle contrast against the warm-toned surface. Because the chips are small and evenly distributed, the surface has strong overall cohesion. From a distance it reads as a dark red ground floating with a fine layer of gray and red dots; up close, the texture of each chip becomes visible. Cement paste fills the gaps solidly, and after grinding and polishing, the surface is flat with aggregate and cement sitting level.

As an inorganic terrazzo bound by Portland cement, the finished product is dense and heavy, with hardness and compressive strength exceeding those of resin-based organic terrazzo. Once laid, it withstands foot traffic and abrasion, suitable for high-traffic areas such as living rooms, corridors, and shopping malls. However, cement naturally has capillary pores. Without crystallization sealing, liquids can penetrate and leave stains. Therefore, crystallization treatment is required after installation, followed by periodic waxing to maintain surface sheen and stain resistance. Daily cleaning requires only a damp mop.

The palette of a dark red base with fine red and gray chips leans steady and vintage, carrying an earthy quality. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, bringing warmth and a sense of weight to the space. In commercial settings such as themed restaurants, tea houses, showrooms, and cultural venues, the color is timeless and helps create a calm atmosphere. Large slabs can be cut to site dimensions, minimizing joints. Once laid and properly maintained, it is ready for normal use.
