MA-49 Goldgray

This organic terrazzo features a deep gray resin base, with gray and black natural marble fragments as the main aggregate, ranging from 1 to 5 cm in size, plus a small number of beige natural marble chips measuring 3 to 5 cm scattered across the surface.

In terms of color, the deep gray base is dark and heavy. The gray and black fragments embedded within it sit close to the base tone, so from a distance the boundaries between aggregate and background are not sharp. The overall effect reads as a layered gray scale from deep to shallow, and only up close can you distinguish the base from the gray fragments and the deeper black ones. The size difference is noticeable: 1 cm small pieces and 3–5 cm large fragments alternate, with the small chips acting as filler and the large fragments creating visual pauses. Crushed natural marble retains irregular edges—some rounded, some still sharp from fracturing—preserving the raw texture of the stone within the resin.

Within this gray field, the few 3–5 cm beige chips are deliberate accents. They are sparse but larger than most of the gray and black fragments, and their warmer tone pulls the eye away from the heaviness of the deep gray, providing moments of relief. During casting, the resin locks these variously colored and sized aggregates in place. After grinding and polishing, all materials sit on the same plane, leaving the surface smooth without obvious unevenness.

As an organic terrazzo, it uses eco-friendly resin instead of cement. Vacuum casting produces a dense slab with low water absorption. In daily use, liquids do not easily penetrate; a wipe with a damp cloth is sufficient, and waxing or special maintenance is unnecessary. The resin matrix carries some elasticity, so edges resist chipping during cutting and installation, and the laid surface is unlikely to crack. Surface hardness withstands daily foot traffic and moving furniture. It suits living room and dining room floors at home, as well as kitchen countertops and bathroom walls. In commercial spaces such as showrooms, offices, and hotel lobbies, it creates a steady, restrained atmosphere that still holds detail. Large slabs can be cut to site dimensions, minimizing joints. After installation, basic cleaning prepares it for use.
