This inorganic terrazzo uses white Portland cement as its base, with red and green natural marble chips densely embedded across the surface, each measuring between 1 and 3 cm. The chips are closely packed, covering most of the surface, with the white base showing only as thin seams between the aggregate.

The red and green chips are crushed directly from natural marble without artificial shaping, so no two pieces are alike. Some are nearly oval, others retain sharp, fractured corners; some are thick, others thin. The red ranges from brick red to dark red, while the green shifts from grass green to deeper tones. Set into the white cement, they look from afar like a white field dotted with red and green blossoms; up close, each stone shows its own natural veining and color variation. Cement paste fills all gaps completely. After grinding and polishing, all aggregate sits flush with the cement base, leaving the surface as a single flat plane that is smooth underfoot.

As an inorganic terrazzo bound by ordinary Portland cement, the finished slab is dense and heavy. Once set, the cement offers hardness and compressive strength exceeding those of resin-based organic terrazzo, suitable for high-traffic areas. However, cement naturally has capillary pores. Without crystallization sealing, liquids can penetrate and leave stains. Therefore, crystallization treatment is required after installation, followed by periodic waxing to maintain surface sheen and stain resistance. Daily cleaning requires only a damp mop.

The palette of a white base with densely packed red and green chips is bright and carries a natural quality. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, bringing energy to the space. It can also be used for kitchen countertops and bathroom walls. In commercial settings such as themed restaurants, children’s activity areas, showrooms, and flower shops, the color is eye-catching yet enduring. Large slabs can be cut to site dimensions, minimizing joints. Once laid and properly maintained, it is ready for normal use.
