MO-14 Pasgogray

This inorganic terrazzo uses gray Portland cement as its base, embedded with natural marble fragments in three achromatic colors—black, gray, and white—each measuring between 1 and 5 cm. Against the gray background, the three neutral tones read from a distance like the face of a natural rock; only up close can you distinguish the boundaries of the black, gray, and white fragments.

The aggregate is crushed directly from natural marble without artificial tumbling, so each fragment retains its original, rough character. Small 1 cm pieces alternate with larger 3–5 cm fragments, with the gaps between large pieces filled by smaller chips and cement paste. The black chips form the darkest accents against the gray base; the white chips provide the brightest highlights; and the gray chips bridge the two, transitioning naturally with the base tone. The three colors are scattered evenly without a fixed pattern, giving the surface unified tonal variation. After grinding and polishing, all aggregate sits level with the cement base, leaving the surface flat and even.

As an inorganic terrazzo bound by cement, it relies on cement hardening to lock the aggregate in place. The finished product is dense and heavy, with hardness and compressive strength exceeding those of resin-based organic terrazzo. It withstands foot traffic in living rooms, corridors, and shopping malls. However, cement naturally has capillary pores. Without crystallization sealing, liquids can penetrate and leave stains. Therefore, crystallization treatment is required after installation, followed by periodic waxing to maintain surface sheen and stain resistance. Daily cleaning requires only a damp mop.

The palette of a gray base with black, gray, and white fragments leans cool and modern, matching various decorative styles. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, as well as kitchen countertops and bathroom walls. In commercial spaces such as showrooms, offices, retail stores, and art venues, it reads simple and textured. Large slabs can be cut to site dimensions, minimizing joints. Once laid and properly maintained, it is ready for normal use.
