Black cement forms the base of this terrazzo, with natural marble chips in black and white embedded across the surface, ranging from 1 cm to 5 cm. This wide size span gives the surface a clear rhythm—small pieces like chess pieces, large ones like eggs—mixed together without looking rigid.

Black chips merge into the black base, their presence only revealed by outline edges or angled light; white chips do the opposite, standing out sharply against the dark ground like flecks of lime splashed into ink. The two colors carry no fixed ratio, interspersed randomly. Crushed natural marble leaves each piece a different shape: some edges worn smooth by water, others still holding the sharp angles from quarrying. Cement paste fills the gaps, and once cured it grips the stone firmly. After grinding and polishing, the slab is a flat plane underfoot with no noticeable unevenness.

It is an inorganic, cement-based terrazzo. Once set, the cement structure is dense and heavy, with compression and wear resistance exceeding those of resin-based organic boards. It suits shopping malls, offices, and home living rooms. However, cement naturally has capillary pores, so the surface must be sealed by crystallization; otherwise water and oil will penetrate and leave permanent marks. Periodic waxing is also needed to maintain sheen. Daily cleaning is straightforward—a pass with a damp mop suffices.

Visually, the black base paired with large black and white chips reads steady and powerful. At home, it works for living room and dining room floors, as well as kitchen islands and bathroom walls. In commercial spaces such as showrooms, cafés, hotel lobbies, and clothing stores, it conveys grandeur and texture. Large slabs are cut to site dimensions; because the chips are large, cutting must avoid the aggregate positions, placing certain demands on installation. Once laid, the few joints create strong visual continuity.
