ADE-18 Tidegray

The base of this slab is light gray cement, carrying two layers of aggregate. The bottom layer is 0.1 to 0.5 cm white and light gray sand, as fine as coarse beach sand, densely embedded in the cement to give the light gray base subtle shifts in light and shadow. Above this fine sand, 1 to 3 cm black marble chips are scattered—noticeably larger, like Go stones dropped onto a gray canvas in sharp black-and-white contrast.

The fine aggregate fills and compacts the surface. These sub-half-centimeter grains, some white, some light gray, hover close to the base tone, reading from a distance like a matte texture laid over the floor. The black chips act as punctuation marks across the surface, appearing at intervals to break the monotony of the fine sand and give the eye places to rest. Crushed natural marble retains irregular edges on the black chips—some rounded, some angular—with natural stone texture still visible, catching light to reveal subtle luster variations.

It is an inorganic, cement-based terrazzo. Once set, the slab is heavy, hard, and dense, with stronger compression and wear resistance than resin boards, suitable for high-traffic areas like shopping malls, offices, and home living rooms. However, cement naturally has pores that allow liquid penetration. Crystallization sealing is mandatory after installation, followed by periodic waxing; otherwise water and oil stains will leave marks that are difficult to remove. Daily upkeep is simple—just wipe with a damp mop.

The palette of light gray base, fine sand texture, and black chips leans cool and modern. It works for living room, dining room, and corridor floors at home, as well as kitchen countertops. In commercial spaces such as showrooms, offices, retail stores, and libraries, it creates a clean, restrained, design-conscious atmosphere. Large slabs can be cut to size, minimizing joints, and are ready for use after crystallization treatment.

In plain terms, this is a cement-based terrazzo with a light gray base, a surface full of fine sand, and black stone chips as accents. The texture mixes coarse and fine, the surface is dense and hard, but sealing and maintenance must not be skipped.
