MA-48 Wavegray

This organic terrazzo is gray through and through. The base is deep gray resin, with gray and black natural marble fragments embedded on the surface, ranging from 1 cm to 5 cm. Because the color difference between aggregate and base is subtle, the slab does not read as a strong contrast; instead it shows a gray gradation from dark to deeper dark, like the face of natural rock—steady and weighty.

The 1–5 cm size span is considerable: small chips are fingernail-sized, while large fragments are half a palm wide. The gray chips are relatively light, visible against the dark base; the black chips are deeper, almost merging into the background, their outlines only emerging when the light shifts. These fragments are crushed natural marble, retaining irregular edges—some rounded, some sharp—with the stone’s natural veining and tiny pores still present. Resin fills the gaps between fragments completely; after grinding, the surface is flat with no height difference, solid underfoot without snags.

As an organic terrazzo, it uses resin instead of cement. Vacuum casting produces a dense, extremely low-absorption body. In daily use, water, oil, and coffee do not easily penetrate; no special cleaner is needed—just a wipe with a damp cloth. The resin matrix has some elasticity, so edges resist chipping during handling and cutting, and the installed surface is less prone to cracking than cement terrazzo. Surface hardness is sufficient; ordinary foot traffic in homes and commercial spaces leaves no obvious scratches.

The deep gray tone itself is fairly dirt-resistant, so dust and small debris are not particularly visible, making maintenance easy. This color suits modern minimalist, industrial, or cool-toned spaces. In homes, it works for living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchen countertops; commercially, it fits showrooms, offices, high-end retail stores, and hotel lobbies, creating a steady, restrained atmosphere. Large slabs can be cut to size, minimizing joints. After laying, no lengthy curing is needed—just basic cleaning before use.
